Displays...where do you get your inspiration? Do you have a constant or rotating display? Do your students help?
Uh, let's see.
Pinterest. Sort of. And ABSOLUTELY.
For a person who spent a lot of time in elementary school, displays are just so not my favorite thing. At all. I like them when they're up, but putting them together totally stresses me out. I think it's because I don't see them as being very high up on my list of priorities.
Pinterest is definitely my go-to for display ideas, though. It does help that I have a sweet little army of minions (or student aides, whatever) to help me with these projects. Some of my craftier girls can take one look at a pin I've showed them and then totally run with it to create a very cool bulletin board or other display.
Occasionally I do assign student-constructed displays to my student aides, and give them topics such as current events or favorite literature genres. Typically that goes well, and it serves a valid purpose in empowering students to promote literature amongst their peers.
And now for the most important item of business here, who else has a library board on Pinterest that I can follow? :)
